Week 1
Day 3 / 3

Be It First

Philippians 2:3–4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

The thought

Most people are waiting. Waiting to be invited, waiting to be noticed, waiting for someone to ask the real question first. Which is why so many people are lonely in the same room. Somebody has to go first, and the honest truth is it's easier to want a Jonathan than to be one. Being one means texting first when you're not sure they want to hear from you. Asking a second question instead of accepting "I'm good." Showing up when it's inconvenient and nobody would blame you for skipping.

Think about it

Who's one person you could go first with this week? What would going first actually look like — specifically, not vaguely?
